Support for members:

CATS provides email and telephone support for members and initial advice for prospective members. Please contact us and we will provide initial advice as required. We then offer a range of consultancy support according to the needs of the client.

An exemplar consultancy package for schools could look like:

Stage 1 (6 consultant days):

Initial planning meetings followed by on site working with Leadership teams, Governors, 'accounts of practice' discussions with key staff, discussion with pupils and parents. Analysis of current practice and aims.

Stage 2 (4 consultant days):

Off site analysis of key interviews and identification of areas for development, report preparation.

Stage 3 (2 consultant days):

Report back and written report as negotiated with the client.

Outcomes:

Detailed report identifying the key areas to develop (short and medium term) and strategies to achieve this. Bespoke solutions to specific local all-through issues.

CATS Consultancy offers a bespoke service to existing and potential all-through schools and learning communities to assess the specific local challenges and identify the priorities for future development within any all-through learning community.

Committed to putting the child at the heart of the all-through learning community, CATS Consultancy will seek to assess the current situation and propose developments to achieve the all-through vision. The details of the package will be negotiated with the client. The purpose will be to support the development of strategic and pragmatic approaches to realise the potential benefits of an all-through philosophy.

CATS Consultancy may focus on one or more of the following key components for raising standards in an all-through setting:

  • Strategic leadership - developing leadership capacity, distributed leadership and models for the engagement of non-teaching professionals at a senior level
  • Curriculum development - transfers and transitions, curriculum continuity, cross-phase understanding and practices
  • Engagement in learning - continuity of behaviour support, parental engagement, multi-agency working and consistent expectations
  • Engagement in learning - continuity of behaviour support, parental engagement, multi-agency working and consistent expectations
  • Partnership working - Continuity of working with external partners (Sure start, Business community for 14-19, HE and FE links etc)
  • Infrastructure systems - developing all-through structures to support the learning process and economies of scale allowing for targeted interventions
  • Monitoring and progression - a commonly understood assessment and monitoring system which is consistently applied 3-19.
